Every paid media brief starts the same way: an objective, a funnel stage, and an audience — before a single platform is chosen. Awareness campaigns and conversion campaigns don’t belong on the same platform mix, and treating Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube and LinkedIn as interchangeable is the fastest way to waste a budget.
Once the objective is set, planning splits into the same four stages for every client: planning the audience and funnel design, activation across the platforms that actually reach that audience, optimization through A/B testing and bidding adjustments, and reporting against the KPIs that were agreed on before launch — not after.
The platforms rarely play the same role twice. A launch campaign might lean on Snapchat and TikTok for reach, while a retargeting phase moves budget toward Meta and Google. Deciding that mix upfront, and being willing to shift it mid-flight based on real performance data, is what separates a media plan from a media guess.
